Features of the different seat foams
The Moto Vision seat foams are available in several thicknesses, generally 12, 15 or 20 mm. This thickness directly determines the level of comfort and seat height. A thinner foam offers better feel for the bike, more feedback from the rear end and a more âraceâ position, while a thicker foam provides more damping of vibrations and impacts over time. The foam can be sanded easily to match the shape of your custom project, whether it is a single-seat tail, a race hump or an endurance-style seat. It is resistant to water and humidity, does not easily become waterlogged in the rain and has one side with an adhesive film to make installation easier.
The Bikesplast brand also offers several models of pre-cut seat foams, specific to particular motorcycle models. These foams follow the shape of the seating area designed for the brandâs poly tail and include drilling marks to make positioning on the rear tail unit easier. This solution is ideal for riders who want to save installation time and get a clean result straight away, without needing to trace, cut and adjust the foam. Universal models, on the other hand, remain the best option for more personalised projects or non-standard seat bases.

Tips for installing motorcycle seat foam
One of the most common questions concerns the installation of motorcycle seat foam. The foams we offer are designed to be fitted on the poly motorcycle fairings available on our site, with a bonding surface adapted to polyester bases.
The adhesive side allows for quick installation, but for very intensive use or extreme conditions, you can reinforce the bond with a neoprene-type glue or a contact adhesive after degreasing the surface. To optimise adhesion, it is recommended to thoroughly degrease the poly with a suitable cleaning product, then let it dry completely. You can then test-fit the foam, mark the areas to be adjusted, sand or trim if necessary, and finally remove the protective film from the adhesive side to apply the foam starting from one edge and gradually pressing out any trapped air.
Once in place, simply apply even pressure over the entire surface to ensure a strong bond. After that, you can enjoy a new riding feel, with a more stable seating position, better support and comfort that is better suited to your riding style.
How to care for your seat foam?
In terms of finish and maintenance, the different seat foams are available only in black, a choice that is both practical and stylish. Black hides marks better, blends easily with most fairing colours and gives a clean, understated racing look.
The surface can simply be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. It is recommended to avoid harsh solvents or strong degreasers that could damage the surface or the adhesive. For track use, regular visual checks will help ensure that the foam is not peeling at the edges and that the structure is not excessively compressed in specific areas.
