This paint is made to order, using your original colour information. Your order may take up to 3 days to prepare.

This painting is prepared on request only. Once your order has been confirmed, we cannot cancel or take back the product. Your right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to this range.

Our basecoats are created using a tintometric system based on APEO free acrylic resins, designed for car refinishes and comprising 65 base colours: 35 opaque basecoats, 7 aluminium basecoats, 4 graphite, 15 pearlescent, 4 xirallic and 3 auxiliaries.

Theoretical yield: 3-4m²/ kg of PAE product. A minimum of 500ml is needed to repaint the fairing of a sports car and 200ml to repaint a roadster. These estimates vary according to the surface area and the number of parts to be repainted.

How do I store Motorbike body paint ?

Water-based motorbike paint should be stored in a frost-free environment, at temperatures above 15°C. To keep the pigments and solvents well mixed and prevent the nozzle from clogging, store the can of paint vertically.

All colours stored in good conditions can be used within 3 months of preparation.

Prepare your motorbike before painting

Dismantle all the parts you wish to paint, wash and degrease them with solvent. Then sand your fairings with 220-grit sandpaper, and use body filler to fill in any dents or scratches. Once dry, sand with 320 to 400 grit sandpaper until you have a perfectly smooth surface.

Don't forget to protect the areas you don't want to paint with masking tape.

Paint application tips

Work in a completely airtight environment at room temperature. Below 18°C, we advise you to postpone your painting session.

Before using the various bases, shake to mix the product for 1 to 2 minutes, especially the aluminium bases. Then follow the order of application below:

  • Two-coat paint: base (= colour) > varnish (sold separately)
  • Three-coat paint: primer > base (= colour) > varnish (sold separately)

Between coats of paint, allow to dry until the colour is completely opaque.

Once the paint has been applied, to eliminate any surface defects, sand with a P1000 or higher dry abrasive after complete drying and repeat the appropriate painting cycle.

Drying time depends on ambient temperature, relative humidity and the thickness of the coat applied. Drying under normal conditions (at 20°C, 50% relative humidity): dust-free after 10 minutes, touch-dry after 30 minutes.

Note: To speed up drying, we recommend using a venturi and increasing the application temperature.

Spray paints

  • Press firmly on the tip of the spray can
  • Clean the nozzle with a damp cloth after each use
  • Rinse the nozzle before putting the cap back on the can

Air Spray Gun paints

  • Always filter the product through a 125 micron filter before applying with a Air Paint Spray Gun.
  • Three-coat paints: choose the right primer (epoxy or urethane) and apply it in thin, even coats.

Metallic and pearlescent colours

1. Apply an anchoring fleece and leave to dry until completely opaque.

2. Apply a second full coat (for low coverage shades apply a third coat).

3. Apply a final coat of metallization using the same pressure but increasing the distance between the gun and the substrate.

Opaque shades

1. Apply a first coat and leave to dry until completely opaque.

2. Apply a second coat to achieve complete coverage.

3. For colours with poor coverage, apply a third coat. Always wait for opacification between successive coats.

Mandatory application of a varnish

Vernis brillant 2K UHS Haute qualité norme 420 (vernis+durcisseur+diluant) 500ml To fix the colours of our water-based paints, it is essential to apply a varnish, matt or gloss. This is sold separately: Gloss Varnish 2K UHS High quality standard 420 (varnish + hardener + thinner) 500ml.

Minimum time for varnish application 15 minutes, maximum time 72 hours. For the second coat of varnish, please wait 10 to 15 days after applying the first coat.

Please note that this 2K varnish, prepared by us, should be kept for a short time, ideally in the fridge, to extend its shelf life from 12 days at room temperature to almost 3 weeks if kept cold.

The varnish hardens within 24 hours of the addition of the hardener.
