The ESE-SW prevents a fault code on the bike’s dashboard and a loss of power when you unplug the exhaust valve servo motor.

Benefits of the ESE SW exhaust valve servo eliminator

Stock exhaust cans and systems weigh much more than their aftermarket counterparts, don’t sound right, and you never reach the bike’s full potential with them.

  • Includes an ON/OFF switch: lets you fully open or close the exhaust valve using the switch, or leave it operating in stock mode for street use
  • Impressive technology: the built-in microprocessor ensures optimal operation and offers wide compatibility. Just plug it in and enjoy!
  • A size champion: Size: 50 × 30 × 17 mm (1.9 × 1.2 × 0.6 inches) and Weight: 45 g (1.58 oz) (with wiring)
  • Endless compatibility: Works with all aftermarket exhausts, full systems, and even with the stock exhaust.

Whatever your reason for changing the muffler or fitting a full system, removing the exhaust valve will leave you with the dreaded FI light. Install the ESE to take care of it, so the FI light only comes on when it should—i.e., when there’s an actual engine problem.

Features of the Healtech ESE exhaust valve servo eliminator BMW R 18/S1000RR

This tiny motorcycle accessory eliminates the bulky, heavy stock servo motor, along with the operating cables and wiring, which can save up to 1 kg and free up plenty of storage space under the seat. Plus, you can now get rid of the exhaust valve by replacing the exhaust system.

The built-in microprocessor ensures optimal operation and offers wide compatibility. If your bike is equipped with an exhaust servo, you’ll need an ESE—whether you’re replacing the exhaust system or adding a fuel control module (or both).

All Healtech ESE models are Plug ’n Go, and installation is a breeze. Just locate the exhaust servo motor under the rider/passenger seat, unplug the connectors, plug the ESE into the OEM connector, and that’s it—you’re ready to ride!

What is an exhaust servo motor and an EXUP valve?

Over the past two decades, motorcycles have been fitted with a butterfly exhaust valve (also called an EXUP valve) to improve low-end torque by restricting the flow of exhaust gases, which creates back pressure in the exhaust system.

As engine speed rises and you open the throttle, this butterfly valve opens more and more so the gases can escape without being restricted. This valve and its housing are welded in after the header downpipes, just before the collector pipe and/or the collector chamber/catalytic converter. Removing this single element from the stock system isn’t worth the time, money, and effort on its own, because the stock system is, in most cases, poor quality and very heavy.

Of course, there are titanium OEM systems, but it’s not easy to find an exhaust shop that can weld titanium, and it will cost a fortune in labor to remove the exhaust valve from the system. So it’s easier and more effective to go for an aftermarket slip-on or a full system. Whatever option you choose, you’ll need an exhaust servo eliminator to do the job properly!
