Clutch

Select your motorbike

The motorcycle clutch is one of the most heavily used systems in your drivetrain. It connects and disconnects engine power from the gearbox every time you change gears. A worn, poorly adjusted or insufficiently lubricated clutch can cause jerky engagement, power loss, or even rear wheel lock-up during downshifts. Moto Vision offers a complete range of products for clutch maintenance, adjustment and replacement: accessories, motorcycle clutches for all brands, slipper clutches and transmission oils.

Motorcycle clutch accessories: levers, cables, covers and adjusters

Motorcycle clutch accessories allow you to maintain, adjust and customise your clutch system without a complete replacement. They are essential for maintaining precise control and reliable long-term operation.

Motorcycle clutch levers

Manufactured from machined or forged aluminium, motorcycle clutch levers provide precise operation and improved comfort during intensive riding.

Available in adjustable versions to adapt the reach to your hand size and riding position.

Clutch cables

A worn or poorly sheathed cable introduces play and reduces clutch precision. Our cables are designed to resist stretching and friction over the long term.

Adjusters and splitters

Adjusters and splitters allow precise tuning of the clutch engagement point according to your riding style, whether you prefer smooth city riding or maximum responsiveness on the track.

Clutch covers

Clutch covers protect internal components against debris and impacts. Available in carbon fibre or aluminium for a customised aesthetic touch.

Motorcycle clutch: which type should you choose for your riding style?

What are the signs of a worn motorcycle clutch?

The most common symptoms include clutch slip during acceleration (engine RPM rises without a corresponding increase in speed), difficulty shifting gears, jerky engagement, or a burning smell after intensive use. In minor cases, a visual inspection of the clutch plates or a clutch cable adjustment may be sufficient.

How do you choose the right motorcycle clutch?

The choice of a motorcycle clutch depends directly on how you ride. A clutch that is too soft may lack bite for sporty riding, while a clutch that is too stiff can cause hand fatigue on long journeys. Here are the main categories available from Moto Vision:

  • Road / everyday-use clutch

Designed for smooth engagement and comfort. Ideal for touring motorcycles, roadsters and naked bikes used in urban environments or on the open road.

  • Sport / track clutch

Designed to withstand high temperatures and frequent engagement cycles. Reinforced friction plates and stiffer springs ensure maximum power transfer.

The TSS slipper clutch is the benchmark choice for sport riders and track enthusiasts. Its cam-assisted mechanism allows partial clutch slip during aggressive downshifts, preventing rear wheel lock-up — a common cause of crashes and loss of control. It is an investment in both safety and performance.

  • Off-road / enduro clutch

Reinforced to withstand the repeated demands of off-road riding: prolonged clutch slipping over obstacles and intensive use during technical riding.

Motorcycle transmission oil: a key factor in clutch lifespan

Do you need a specific oil for a wet clutch?

Yes. Standard engine oils contain friction modifiers that are incompatible with wet clutch plates. You must use an oil certified to JASO MA or JASO MA2 standards, specifically formulated for motorcycle transmissions equipped with wet clutches.

How do you choose the right transmission oil?

On the vast majority of motorcycles, the clutch operates in the same transmission oil bath as the gearbox. Oil quality and regular oil changes therefore have a direct impact on clutch plate lifespan, engagement smoothness and gearbox performance. Degraded or unsuitable oil can lead to clutch slipping, rough gear changes and premature wear.

Mineral oil: Recommended for older-generation motorcycles. Provides excellent basic lubrication but requires more frequent changes (approximately every 5,000 km).

Semi-synthetic oil: The ideal balance between performance and budget for modern motorcycles used in mixed riding conditions. Provides reliable protection for up to approximately 10,000 km, depending on manufacturer recommendations.

100% synthetic oil: The benchmark choice for sport motorcycles and intensive use (track riding and off-road riding). Resists extremely high temperatures and maintains its lubricating properties well beyond 10,000 km.

Important: Never use conventional engine oil in your transmission if your motorcycle is equipped with a wet clutch. The friction modifiers found in automotive engine oils can cause clutch plate slippage. Always choose an oil carrying JASO MA or JASO MA2 certification.

Our catalogue covers every motorcycle clutch requirement: adjustment accessories, complete replacement clutches, TSS slipper clutches and JASO MA/MA2-certified transmission oils. Each product page specifies compatibility by make and model. Our technical team is available via chat, phone or email to help you identify the exact part you need, regardless of your level of mechanical experience.
