What is the difference between a motorcycle cleaner and a motorcycle restorer?

A motorcycle cleaner removes dirt, a restorer brings life back. That is the key difference. To put it simply, the cleaner prepares the surface, the restorer does the finishing work. A motorcycle cleaner or degreaser will dissolve surface contaminants such as brake dust, chain grease, insects and tar.

Once the surface is clean and decontaminated, the motorcycle restorer takes over to treat the condition of the material itself. Faded plastics, oxidised metals, micro-scratched paint, an exhaust yellowed by heat: restoration products are designed to correct these visible defects and restore your bike’s original shine, often leaving a protective film against future aggression. A plastic restorer revives faded colours and protects against UV, a bodywork polish reduces micro-scratches and brings depth back to the paint, and a metal restorer makes stainless steel, aluminium or chrome shine again by removing haze and oxidation marks.

Where the cleaner works on the surface and is rinsed away, the restorer leaves a real long-lasting “care treatment” on the part.
