Fitting and operating advice
Before fitting, always compare the EBC reference, model year, engine capacity and exact motorcycle version with the application list. The same commercial model name can use different assemblies between years. Inspect the clutch basket, hub, pressure plate, release mechanism and every component that will be reused. Deep notches, distortion or dimensions outside service limits must be addressed in accordance with the workshop manual.
Follow the manufacturer's sequence, component orientation and tightening torques. Use the recommended motorcycle oil at the correct level, and avoid additives that may interfere with a wet clutch. Where required, prepare the friction plates according to the manufacturer's procedure before assembly. After fitting, check free play, control operation and the absence of unusual noise or leaks before returning the motorcycle to normal use.
Progressive operation during the first journeys helps confirm clean engagement and release. If the lever becomes abnormally heavy, the motorcycle creeps with the lever pulled in, or the clutch continues to slip, stop the road check and repeat the diagnosis. Installation should be entrusted to a competent technician whenever the required tools, measurements or experience are not available.
