A dedicated tool for clutch removal
The CT tool is shaped to engage with the clutch basket or hub specified for its reference. It holds the component while the central fastener is loosened or tightened, avoiding improvised pliers or levers that could mark the aluminium. Each CT has its own profile, so the application data must be followed exactly.
Before starting work, identify the exact motorcycle, model year and clutch assembly fitted. Two CT tools that look similar are not necessarily interchangeable. The reference must match the application stated by EBC and Parts Europe. Never force a tool that does not seat correctly against the intended engagement points on the basket or hub.

Fitting and operating advice
Remove the engine cover as described in the workshop manual, then engage the tool fully before applying load. Use the correct socket on the fastener and keep the holding tool aligned to prevent it slipping. It provides counter-hold only; it does not replace the correct socket, a torque wrench or the manufacturer's prescribed locking procedure.
During reassembly, clean the contact surfaces, inspect the removed components and apply the manufacturer's tightening torque. Do not strike the tool or use an excessive extension. After use, make sure it is not bent or damaged and store it dry. If the basket or hub is marked or worn, complete the diagnosis before rebuilding the clutch.
A correctly matched holding tool improves control by applying force through the intended engagement points instead of the basket's more fragile edges. Work with the motorcycle stable, the engine cold and the battery secured as specified by the manufacturer. Prepare any replacement parts, cover gasket and oil required before opening the engine so the assembly is not left exposed longer than necessary.
