The K&N 99-0516EU air filter oil is an aerosol oil designed for maintaining air filters, based on a hydrocarbon mixture (product reference 99-0504EU/99-0516EU). It quickly penetrates the folds of cotton fabric filters to provide a superior air filtration system.

Features of K&N Air Filter Oil

The spray format of the oil for K&N air filters makes application practical and regular, both for workshop use and everyday maintenance, on a product classified in the “lubricants and additives” category. In terms of characteristics, the product is a colorless liquid with a characteristic odor and a relative density of around 0.8 at 15 °C. It is insoluble in water, which is consistent with an oily product designed to stay in place once applied.

From a physico-chemical standpoint, the data sheet indicates a boiling point of 40 °C and a flash point of -35 °C—details to keep in mind for use and storage. Like any oily aerosol, it should be used with proper safety practices. The product is classified as an extremely flammable aerosol (H222) and the container is under pressure (H229), with a risk of bursting if heated.

It is recommended to keep the aerosol away from any ignition source, not to pierce or burn the container even after use, to protect it from sunlight, and not to expose it to temperatures above 50 °C, while storing it in a well-ventilated place.
In the workshop, the data sheet also emphasizes ventilating the work area and, if necessary, using protective equipment (goggles, gloves, suitable clothing, and respiratory protection if ventilation is insufficient). Finally, for responsible handling, the data sheet states that the product is not considered harmful to aquatic organisms nor likely to cause long-term adverse effects in the environment, and that disposal must be carried out in accordance with local regulations (contents/container).
