What is a PAIR system eliminator used for?

The PAIR system (Secondary Air Injection), fitted to most modern sport bikes and roadsters, injects fresh air downstream of the valves directly into the exhaust system. The goal is to promote after-oxidation of unburnt hydrocarbons, reduce emissions, and meet emissions regulations. However, it has a well-known side effect: when you close the throttle and under heavy deceleration, this air + unburnt fuel mixture ignites in the exhaust, causing popping and crackling on overrun.

As soon as you’re aiming for cleaner combustion, a sharper throttle response, eliminating “pops,” or a dyno tune, the PAIR system becomes a nuisance: it interferes with exhaust gas readings, skews measurements, and complicates optimization. But disconnecting the PAIR valve from the stock wiring harness is immediately detected by the ECU, which triggers the FI warning light and can mask a real engine-related fault.

The PSE Eliminator provides a clean, technical solution. The electronic module plugs into the PAIR valve connector and simulates the load expected by the ECU, preventing the FI light from appearing without any wiring modifications.

This removes the electronic constraint and lets you prepare the bike properly, whether for track use or precise tuning.
