An electronic accessory for HealTech ignition restriction elimination is used to remove or bypass the stock ignition limiters installed by the manufacturer on certain motorcycles, especially Suzuki and Kawasaki models with a gear position indicator on the dashboard. 

 

Features of the Suzuki HealTech HT-XT-S01 ignition restriction eliminator unit

This electronic device is designed for Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles with an original gear position indicator on the dashboard. The X-Tre does not deactivate the stock gear indicator thanks to the built-in chip that encodes/decodes the communication link between the ECM and the dashboard in real time. This feature is unique, as other TRE units on the market disable the gear position indicator.

What is an ignition restriction eliminator electronic accessory used for?

In practice, many sport bikes and roadsters are deliberately limited in certain gears or at a given speed from the factory. The ECU retards the ignition or limits the power in order to comply with noise and emissions regulations or speed legislation.

The HealTech unit connects to the bike’s wiring harness in a plug-and-play way. Only one wire needs to be cut during installation, and we supply high-quality, gel-sealed quick connectors for fast, simple and reliable connections, with no soldering required.

The default mapping used is that of 4th gear, but it can easily be changed to 5th or 6th to suit your preferences. The X-TRE automatically switches off in neutral to guarantee a perfectly stable idle. It offers 3 user-selectable gear maps with a buttonless design. A status LED makes diagnosis easier in case of a problem. The unit automatically configures the data bus in order to be compatible with all the models listed as compatible. Its power consumption is very low, with an automatic standby function.

The electronic unit “cheats” on the gear information sent to the ECU: the bike thinks it is running in a non-restricted gear (for example 4th or 5th) even when you are actually in 1st, 2nd, 6th, etc. As a result, you get the full-power ignition map on all gears. The unit does not fully reflash the ECU and does not replace a fuel injection controller such as a Power Commander or equivalent: it mainly acts on ignition management linked to the selected gear and the stock limitations. 

Very important from a legal point of view: this type of accessory is generally intended for track / racing use only. On public roads, removing a manufacturer’s limiter may make the bike non-compliant with its type approval and can cause issues in the event of a police check, an expert inspection after an accident or with your insurance.
