The Jetprime electronic sidestand eliminator is a ready-to-use device that closes the standard sidestand switch, tricking the motorcycle's ECU and allowing it to be used on the track.

Why remove the sidestand on a track motorcycle?

On track, the sidestand is of no use. In the paddock, the motorcycle is placed on front paddock stands and rear paddock stands, which are much more stable and better suited for mechanical work, using tyre warmers or transport.

The sidestand is also removed for safety reasons because at high speed and with large lean angles, it can touch the ground and destabilize the bike, or even cause a crash.

There is also an electronic reliability issue. Most modern motorcycles are equipped with a sidestand sensor that cuts the engine if the sidestand is down. On track, this sensor can become a source of failure or unexpected engine cut-outs, especially with vibrations, crashes or frequent disassembly.

Finally, on a motorcycle dedicated exclusively to circuit use, road-homologation constraints no longer apply. So there is no obligation to keep the sidestand, unlike for use on public roads. What's more, even if the weight saving is modest, removing the stand, its bracket and the switch eliminates unnecessary parts and makes the bike lighter!
