The benefits of the SmartMoto diagnostic switch

The DLC/SCS diagnostic switch provides access to the error codes stored in the ECU and helps diagnose fuel injection (Fi) issues.

The issue is that the manufacturer’s original tool is often bulky and clearly intended for workshop use, not for staying on the motorcycle. The SmartMoto product therefore replaces the original OEM part (Honda: 070PZ-ZY30100).

Once installed, it allows you to activate ABS diagnostic mode directly on the motorcycle, with no disassembly or additional equipment. It is permanently installed on the motorcycle thanks to a fully waterproof installation kit and a 35 cm cable length.

How to use a DLC/SCS diagnostic switch

The SmartMoto DLC/SCS diagnostic switch is particularly useful when the ABS warning light stays on after a battery replacement, work on a wheel, an ABS sensor or the wiring harness.

The SmartMoto DMT-003 switch connects to the DLC connector and activates “service diagnostics” mode on many fuel-injected Honda motorcycles. It provides access to fault codes stored in the ECU and makes diagnosis easier. The codes are displayed via the blinking MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp).

Instead of riding blind or having to visit a workshop just to clear a code, the switch lets you immediately check whether the fault is still present. It helps you distinguish a one-off fault from a real issue that requires repair. If the code returns after being cleared, it confirms that there is a fault to be addressed.
